South Field Improvements
During the Summer of 2009 the major re-construction of the South Fields and Junior High playgrounds was completed. This was a joint project of Oak Grove School District 68, the PTO, and OGSEF.
The improvements include new play equipment, a full-size basketball court, a shaded seating area for socializing, blacktop games, and a one-half mile walking/jogging path. The resources are, of course, available to the broader community during non-school hours.
The 68468 fundraising effort was targeted for this project, and was extended to community participants, the Village of Green Oaks, Homeowner's Associations, and others who would benefit from these changes.
The completed project safely provides fun and fitness for students while enhancing the physical education department's opportunity to develop a broader range of extra-curricular and instructional activities.
