Board Members

Meet Our Board Members

The OGEF Board consists of nine members, each serving a two-year term. The Board typically meets monthly, and members are expected to to play an active role in Foundation initiatives. Contact the current Board President for more information about getting involved.

Martha Watt - Board President

Martha is the current President of the Oak Grove School Education Foundation and has been a volunteer and parent within the school for the eight years her children have been attending Oak Grove. She currently has a 8th grader, Sarah, and 5th grader, Michael attending Oak Grove and has resided in the Saddle Hill community for fifteen years.

Martha was a founding member of the District 68 Foundation and was the VP of Marketing and Communications from 2007-2008, planning the Foundation's first Gala fund raiser supporting the new Learning Centers and technology initiatives for the District.

She also works full time at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management as a Director of Corporate Relations and Business Marketing.

Martha holds a B.S.E. from the University of Michigan in Industrial & Operations Engineering and a Masters in Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Business in Marketing and International Management.

Mary Pat Wisner - Vice-President

Mary Pat is currently the Vice-President of the Oak Grove School Education Foundation and chairs the Fundraising Committee. She is a founding member of the Foundation, originally serving as the Board of Education Representative.

In April of 2009, Mary Pat retired from her position on the Board of Education after 13 ½ years of service to Oak Grove School, most recently as the President the last four years. She has been an active volunteer in the Oak Grove and Libertyville communities for 20 years.

Mary Pat and her husband, Jim, have been married for 39 years and have 4 grown children, all graduates of Oak Grove School. Her love of gardening led her to acquire Master Gardener certification from the University of Illinois extension. She is currently employed by Buss Landscape as a Maintenance Supervisor.

Peggy Hanson - Treasurer

Peggy is the current Treasurer of the Oak Grove School Education Foundation. Her family has been at Oak Grove School for five years. She currently has 3 boys at Oak Grove: Jack (6th grade), Ben (6th grade) and Beau (5th grade).

Peggy joined the Oak Grove School Education Foundation in November of 2008 as Treasurer which utilizes her accounting background. It is her first experience on a non-profit organization board.

 

Peggy is a stay-at-home mom who also volunteers her time at Oak Grove School, her church and the Liberty Prairie Conservancy. Her prior professional accounting and finance experience included work in both the public and private sectors.

Peggy obtained a B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas Tech University and an M.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin. She earned her C.P.A. certification in the state of Texas.

Kim Moody - Secretary

Kim was recently appointed as Secretary to the Board of the Oak Grove Educational Foundation. This is her first experience on a non-profit organization Board. During her 2 ½ years in the Green Oaks community, she has had the opportunity to serve as Home Room Parent for each of her children. Kim currently serves as the PTO Committee Chair of the 2nd and 3rd Grade Social Night. For the past 2 years, she has also served as Co-Chair of the Welcome New Family Event. She has been actively involved with community and civic organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, SOS Children's Village, Women in Distress, and Jack and Jill Children's Center. Through her church memberships, she has also served in several community outreach programs.

Kim is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she received both her Bachelor of Science and Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Prior to having children, she taught for ten years in both the public and private sectors in Texas, Florida, and Kentucky. Currently, she is employed with Lifetime Athletic Center in Vernon Hills and holds a national certification as a Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer. She is married to Brent, and they have two children, Ben (3rd Grade) and Hope (2nd Grade).

Raghu Thunga, MD - Board Member

Dr. Raghu Thunga is a board certified physician in anesthesia and pain management and a founding physician of the Lake County Pain Management Clinic in Libertyville. He has served on the Executive Board of the Lake County Medical Society since 2004, holding the office of President in 2007 and a member of the AMA, ABA, and the ASA.

Raghu is a graduate of Libertyville High School and Northwestern University Medical School. He is a founding member of the Oak Grove School Education Foundation and has served as its Secretary since 2007. Raghu also serves on the Board of Swayam Krishi Sangam (SKS) Foundation, a not-for-profit initiative to eradicate poverty in India. Raghu has lived in Green Oaks for the past 4 years with his wife Karen and his 3 children David (8th grade), Sara (5th grade), and Luke (3rd grade).

Bernie Wysocki - Board Member

Bernie is an attorney with the firm of Wysocki and Smith, in Waukegan. He has practiced law in Lake County, for 35 years. Bernie is the mayor of Green Oaks and has been on the Village Board for 22 years. His wife, Susan, is a 3rd grade teacher at Adler School in Libertyville and served on the Oak Grove School Board for 8 years.

Bernie has two adult children, both of which graduated from Oak Grove. Krysia is an attorney who practices with Wysocki and Smith. Brenden is manager of admissions for the graduate school of education for Pepperdine University in California.

Judy Egan - Board Member

Judy is the current Programs Committee Chair of the Oak Grove School Education Foundation. She has been a parent and volunteer at Oak Grove School since moving to the area in 2004. She also serves as a member of the Oak Grove School Board of Education.

Judy's previous volunteer positions with Oak Grove School include membership on the Curriculum Coordinating Council and PTO Co-President. Her employment experience includes city management and economic development; grants management; and education-related program monitoring and reporting.

 

Judy has a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Corrections and an M.A. in Public Policy and Analysis from St. Louis University. She and her husband, Tom, have three children who have benefitted from their experiences at Oak Grove School.

Gaurav Jalota - Board member

Gaurav is helping in the areas of programs and technology. He has been living in Green Oaks for two years with his wife, Rachel, and two sons Kavi (2nd grade at Oak Grove) and Kaden (preschool).

Gaurav works full-time as an IT Director for Case New Holland where he is managing a global team of employees and consultants.

Gaurav holds a Bachelors in Computer Engineering from University of Canberra (Australia) and a Masters in Computer Science from California State University. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and playing racquetball.

Jim Moore - Board Member

Jim Moore is Senior Vice President for Foundation Advancement with the Evans Scholars Foundation. He is a new member of the Oak Grove School Education Foundation and will assist the board in the area of corporate giving and grants as well as matching gift opportunities.

Jim and his wife Jermayne, a retired high school teacher, are the grandparents of Dolores Palmieri who is in the 6th grade and her brother Jonathon who is in the 3rd grade.
